Study program of the university of Deggendorf (THD) moves into the GiB

The university of Deggendorf (THD) with its new degree program "Building Products and Processes" will rent space in the GiB-FEZ (Research and Development Center). It is planned that the university will also be able to use GiB‘s existing laboratory facilities in connection with research projects
The construction industry is currently evolving in many ways, and thus also the study offers. That is why we created the completely new degree program “Building Products and Processes” in close cooperation with the Technical University of Deggendorf (THD).
The hybrid study structure of engineering and management with the bilingual lecture concept is unique in this form in Germany. The two focal points of product development and project management are also aligned with the megatrends of digitalization and sustainability.
In connection with this new course of study, the university will also rent space in the GiB-FEZ (Research and Development Center), a total of 515 m², as of November 1, in order to be able to carry out the necessary internships for the students. New laboratories for building physics tests such as fire, sound, heat, indoor air, etc. and a CAD-BIM-LAB will be built here. In addition, it is planned that the university will also be able to use GiB‘s existing laboratory facilities in connection with research projects.
We have massively supported this new degree program from the very beginning and actively participated in its elaboration, because it represents another building block for our future GiB junior staff. The course of studies will certainly generate employees for the area of research & development / product management and project handling in the future.
